ORIGINAL LEATHER RESTORATION

THE ORIGINAL LEATHER IN YOUR OLD CAR CAN BE REFURBISHED

Have you ever wondered if the interior of your Classic Car could be saved and preserved? If it was possible to keep the old leather? If the colour could be restored to it’s original? If it was possible to stop it falling to pieces or gradually getting more weakening creases and cracks? If the leather could be more flexible again?

This would keep the originality of the car on the inside as well as on the outside and be fully functioning. It would look refreshed and looked after but still fit in with the car’s era.

At Interior Revival Co this is what we do.

Not re-trimmers but specialists in bringing the original interior back to life through deep cleaning, repair and restoration. Not only leather, but fabrics – seats, headlining, door cards, fur flex, carpets, vinyls and hard plastics. Cleaning is very clean but kind to what it is cleaning. The aim of repairs is to make them invisible and restoration will colour match the leather or vinyl to the original tone.

Colour fade, staining, abrasion, cracking, holes, tears can all be treated in many of the different materials used in the car interior.

We have many stories for the reasons customers have their car interiors restored. It could be a show car and keeping the original interior just gives it that bonus. It could be that the car belonged to a relation, a celebrity or has some particular history attached to it. Keeping the original leather preserves that history. It could be that our customer just prefers the old look rather than looking too new. Whatever the reason, a number of interiors can be repaired or restored without getting rid of them.

REFURBISHING LEATHER SUITES

YOUR LEATHER SUITE CAN BE REFURBISHED

Do you wish your leather suite could look a lot newer again? Is it looking as though it needs a really good clean? All the general soiling sitting in the valleys of the leather grain that is hard to clean out on cream suites is causing it not to look so fresh as it was. Or are there areas of colour damage such as scratches, scuffs, loss of colour along the seams, the odd tear?

It is not always necessary to dig deep into your pockets and buy a new suite just yet or for quite a while. Interior Revival Co as ‘it says on the tin’ can clean, repair or restore your suite according to what you require and truly revive it.

         1. It maybe giving that cream suite a really good professional clean that will get it back to looking ‘cream’ again! After the clean, Protection Cream is applied all over the leather to help it be so much easier to clean next time and give some protection against staining and damage.

          2. If part of the leather surface is damaged with cracking, scuffs or scratches even the odd hole, then these types of damage can be invisibly repaired in most cases. It can include cat scratches, pen marks or nail varnish remover spillage which are all common types of damage. The damaged area is prepared by ensuring the surface is smooth again and a new colour is made up and applied to exactly match original. These areas are then sealed with a high wear finish to the right sheen, again fitting in with the surrounding original. There we have it, back to normal again.

          3. Perhaps the suite needs a new lease of life. There are areas of colour loss and damage in various areas throughout the suite. In this case multiple repairs may need to be carried out and large areas need to be recoloured such as whole cushion tops for example. This is a restoration. This sort of thing can give your suite 5 years more life for example at 1/3 of the cost of a new suite so it can be well worth doing. If it was felt that the money in some cases was better spent on a new one then that advice would be given. We do want you to spend your money on the best option.

After any clean, repair or restoration it is wise to clean the leather at least once a year and apply Protection Cream every 3 months on the contact areas. (The seating part of the suite where it is most used). This helps the leather to last longer and resist wear which keeps your suite looking great.

BMW NEGLECTION

It is often the case that a THIRD of your BMW is sadly neglected!

A third? Yes, the cabin is about a third of the car. How often is it that you see a really pretty car, open the door and… what a shame!

We are specialists at putting that right. We clean, repair or restore the original interior to give it that fantastic look again. With techniques and a lot of experience over the years we have honed it down to 3 procedures that keep the interior looking good long term – the Deep Clean, Repairs when necessary plus overtime, when the car interior is ageing or worse for wear – Restoration.

Just like the outside of the car, the inside can be kept in tip top condition helping you to feel it is a real pleasure to be in. It also slows down wear and ageing and protects your investment. What is more it is the original looking great.

Often cleaning materials that you can obtain are either too mild and safe to do anything very much or too abrasive causing long term damage. Interior Revival Co have a system that lifts the dirt, stains and grease but doesn’t harm the leather, fabrics, carpets or plastics and the colours are often enhanced looking so much brighter and new.

With the added protection treatments they will stay like that so much longer too. You can choose your menu from just the seating or the whole cabin. We also offer a clean, colour restoration and sealing of cabriolet roofs which really tops it.

Just when you start to loose interest in your car because the interior is getting the odd bit of damage and you think it will never look so good again, take heart, something can be done. It can be repaired and in most cases looking virtually new. Our greatest aim and endeavour is to effect an invisible, colour matched repair. We would be foolish to promise it, but depending on the original damage, this is what most of our customers finish up with. Then all is forgiven and the car has a new lease of life!

This is far beyond the normal “Smart’ repairs. Inetrior Revival specialises in the really serious makeovers where the original interior can still be restored without having a re-trim. The leather for instance, maybe badly cracked or dry and can be treated to greatly reduce the cracking and put flex back in the leather again too. In some cases part of an interior maybe better re-trimmed and this is can be blended in with the remaining original.

So from restoring the colour in a cabriolet roof to putting new life into the leather seating to getting rid of the luggage scratches in the boot just imagine how your car can look. Cars needing restoration are often 8 years old and older. Our oldest project so far was a 1926 Lea Francis earlier this year. As in this case, it maybe very important to the owner that the original is preserved be it because the car is a good sample or the original is preferred.

GOOD QUALITY LEATHER REPAIRING

KEEPING ORIGINAL LEATHER, NO NEED TO REPLACE

Leather, if looked after, can last for years and years. During its useful life it gathers history, becoming part of a story. ‘The sofa that belonged to my Grandfather’; the Classic car that went out to South Africa and has been traced back to England again still with the original leather’. These stories need preserving. Modern cars and furniture need ongoing care too if we are going to keep them functioning and looking their best.

           DAMAGED LEATHER

Sadly, along the way, leather can fade or become dry. It gets damaged through wear, accidents, pests or deterioration. Some of this damage can happen when the leather is new, the new leather sofa, the modern leather car seat – scratches, colour loss, scuffs, holes, pet damage, or when it is a lot older – insect holes, drying out cracked, tears, and wearing away.

           LEATHER CAN BE REPAIRED

The good news is – leather repairs – even better news it can be repaired well, very well which is where Interior Revival Co comes in. You may have seen a hole in leather that has some stitching in the leather to pull it together again, or a patch glued over or under the hole to cover it and stop it getting worse. Areas of leather colour that don’t match. Repairs that don’t last long and are disappointing.

           GOOD QUALITY LEATHER REPAIRING

At Interior Revival Co we have worked hard to make happy customers by delivering strong invisible repairs, not guaranteed but indeed our greatest aim. This takes the sting out of traditionally poor leather repairs that are disappointing and don’t last. With our vast experience and specially selected products, we see it as our duty to give our customers a colour matched lasting leather repair that they can forget was ever damaged.
